Sunflower Montessori School adheres to the philosophy of its founder, Dr. Maria Montessori, who believed in engaging the "whole" child in a learning process in order to stimulate a child’s social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual development in the preschool/kindergarten years.  In Maria Montessori's own words, we attempt to "enable children to grow up with a healthy spirit, strong character, and clear intellect."
